We are a small, friendly and enthusiastic gardening club. Amongst us we have plant enthusiasts, allotment holders and many who just like to potter. All are keen to share their gardening knowledge and expertise.  

Through most of the year, we meet on a monthly basis for talks and demonstrations on a variety of topics. After meetings there is time to socialise, swap stories and cultivation tips over a cup of tea or coffee. In the summer months we organise garden visits. Our aim is to enhance our knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of gardening.

The society was founded in 1896 and so we celebrated our 120th anniversary in 2016. We are very proud of our heritage, but we do try to reflect the current interests of our members.

We are affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society and Plant Heritage.
